The paper describes the theory of, and the advantages to be gained from the practise of concrete pumping. Mechanical and hydraulic pumps which use either static or mobile equipment depending on site requirements, are described and compared. The desirable properties, and the necessary quality of the constituents, of a concrete that is suitable for pumping are fully discussed.
