THE PAPER DEALS WITH PIPE JACKING, A TECHNIQUE WHICH IS DESIGNED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SEWER LINES, PEDESTRIAN SUBWAYS, IRRIGATION CONDUITS, ETC, BELOW GROUND WITHOUT DISRUPTING THE SURFACE AMENITIES. THE METHOD IS PARTICULARLY APPLICABLE TO SOFT GROUND WHERE TRADITIONAL MINING AND TUNNELLING PROCESSES MAY BE DIFFICULT.
