DIGEST FOR THE ADVANCED NUCLEAR CARGO SHIP STUDY

The purpose of the study was to establish the preliminary design and construction features and associated total cost analysis of a hypothetical, large, high-speed, nuclear-powered, point-to-point, high-productivity container-ship operating on Trade Route 12. The study is based on currently available proven technology and such hardware as can be offered by United States industry on a fixed price/warrantee basis, with particular emphasis on pre-assurance of operational dependability.
