MARINE CORROSION OF A WHITE COPPER-BASE ALLOY WITH ZINC, MANGANESE, NICKEL AND ALUMINUM

Corrosion test results show that a nickel-aluminum-bronze alloy provides superior performance for propellers on large shipms and liners. A Cu-Mn-Ni-Zn alloy is recommended for small boat propellers, since impingement corrosion and erosion are not primary problems due to long non-operating periods.
