ELECTROTHERMAL EQUATION FOR ANODE CONNECTOR COMPONENTS DESIGN

An electrothermal equation was derived to allow selection of optimum design for impressed current anode connecting rods and surrounding components used in impressed current cathodic protection systems for ships hulls. Laboratory evaluation of the equation demonstrated its validity, within experimental error. Connecting rod and gland packing diameters for various anode current capacities were calculated.
