BOEING AIR TRAVELER SURVEY 1967

This report presents the results of a survey conducted among the Boeing Company air travelers during a three-month period in 1967. The procedures used for conducting the survey and for reducing the data are included. Summaries of two previous surveys are presented for comparative purposes This survey gathered data on all the individual segments of the door-to-door air trip. I included a breakdown of the trip to and from the airport, the time spent in the terminal buildings of each end of the trip as well as the time spent in the airplane. The data included in this report can be applied to a multitude of studies related to transportation systems. It identifies deficiencies in the total air transportation system as seen by the traveler. It can be used to evaluate new aircraft designs in a realistic operational environment.
