AIRLINE DEMAND FOR USE ON AN AIRPORT AND AIRPORT RENTS

This paper examines, in particular, the demand for use of Washington National Airport. The airport is convenient to downtown Washington, D. C. The derived demand for flights is therefore large. This paper attempts to estimate the airlines' demand price for use of the airport at the quota level of operations. The first part of the paper sketches the theory of airline demand for landing and takeoff opportunities.
