FIRST INSTALLATION OF VOKES SERIES 1000 HEAVY FUEL FILTRATION UNIT
Rated at 4500 liter/hr (1000-gph) the Vokes Series 1000 unit is designed for continuous uninterrupted duty and is maintained in working condition partly by automatic back-flushing of the primary filter and partly by automatic change-over of duplex filter units in the secondary filter. Before reaching these filters, the fuel goes through a settling chamber with automatic water drainage and Microdisk 3000 prefilter. The first marine installation has been made aboard the Swedish ferry Prins Oberon. Major design features and operation of the unit are described.
