AN OIL RECOVERY SYSTEM UTILIZING POLYURETHANE FOAM--A FEASIBILITY STUDY

The Environmental Protection agency has released a report on the successful use of polyurethane foam as a sorbent for spilled oil. The report says the system tested, developed and evaluated for EPA by the Shell Development Co. under a $133,000 contract, can recover all types of spilled oil from water surfaces under a wide variety of conditions.
