APPLICATION OF A SYSTEM OF FUNCTIONS TO CALCULATE NONRECTANGULAR DISCS
The bending of a thin quadrangular plate with two parallel edges under a transverse load is investigated. The approximating function is selected in the form of the derivative of the sines of a linear-fractional function in Cartesian coordinates. These functions can satisfy the boundary conditions on the nonparallel edges. An ordinary fourth order differential equation with ordinary boundary conditions is obtained to find the distribution of displacement between the parallel edges in accordance with the method used. An example of a specific calculation of a trapezoidal plate under a constant load is discussed.
