SOME PROBLEMS OF AXISYMMETRIC BENDING OF ROUND THREE-LAYERED PLATES WITH A RIGID FILLER

This article contains a study of axisymmetric bending of round three-layer plates of symmetrical structure with respect to thickness with isotropic supporting layers and incompressible in the transverse direction of the filler under the effect of transverse, uniformly distributed and longitudinal loads. The Poisson coefficients of all the layers are assumed identical. Three resolving equations with respect to deflection and two functions u(a) and u(b) which are the halfsum and half difference of the radial displacements of points on the midsurfaces of the supporting layers are formulated. The solution of the first homogeneous second-order equation with respect to u(a) found in the usual way. The remaining two equations of the system are reduced to one equation with respect to the deflection function. The solution to the problems of bending of freely supported and clamped plates is given using cylindrical functions: 1) plates with moment supporting layers under the effect of transverse loads only and 2) with momentless supporting layers under the effect of transverse and longitudinal loads. A freely supported plate loaded under bending moments uniformly distributed along the outline in addition to transverse and longitudinal loads is also investigated. Formulas are presented for determining the stresses in the supporting layers and the filler.
