The future of lasser welding will depend on what is done to increase the power of both continuous wave and pulse lasers, and to increase the pulse length and the life of flash tubes on pulse welders. Fortunately, the great amount of laser activity in other fields is generating developments that will advance laser welding. As a heat source for annealing and adjusting small electronic components, the laser will continue to find more and more applications.
