THE ASSESSMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOR SURVIVAL ON THE GREAT LAKES
The report presents an assessment of the requirements for the survival of personnel associated with merchant vessel casualties on the Great Lakes. Analyses of actual man-in-the-water casualties and reviews of selected literature pertinent to cold and in-water survival were used as bases for developing simulated casualty profiles and for constructing GERTS networks. Case analyses, casualty simulations, and analytical techniques were used to assess survival requirements. (Author)
