THE INFLUENCE OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ON THE OPERATING COSTS OF TUNNEL VENTILATION SYSTEMS
DER EINFLUSS DES KRAFTFAHRZEUGVERKEHRS AUF DIE BETRIEBSKOSTEN VON TUNNELLUEFTUNGEN
The operating costs of transverse and semi-transverse ventilation systems are influenced by traffic volumes and traffic composition, traffic distribution over the course of a day, average vehicle weight, number of ventilation stages, and automative ventilation resulting from the traffic. Use of the method of calculating the operating costs of tunnel ventilation systems is explained by the example of a tunnel tube carrying two-way traffic in relation to the length of the tunnel and number of sections with respect to the equipment to be installed and the annual operating costs. The new elbe tunnel in hamburg is also examined with respect to automatic ventilation. The operating costs are compared with those of ventilation systems in long and heavily trafficked road tunnels.
