THE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF RECTANGULAR CONCRETE SLAB WITH VARIOUS BOUNDARY CONDITIONS

One of the problems in the design of elevated highways, for the specified loading conditions obtaining in this country, is the derivation of the destribution of deflection, moment and reaction in rectangular concrete slabs with various boundary conditions. In this report, methods of analysis for this specific problems are presented based upon elastic and ultimate load design criteria. The theoretical solutions have been used to derive curves, giving the distribution of deflection, moment and reaction for a wide range of breadth/sspan ratios, which may readily be used in design. /TRRL/
