POLISHING AND WEAR PROPERTIES OF SURFACING MATERIALS

This publication contains data on apparatuses used to test the polishing and wear of surfacing materials (accelerated polishing machine, RRL Skid-resistance tester), tests on thin, epoxy-bound surfaces with fine-granular aggregates, aggregates tested, microscopic examination of aggregates, preparation of test sections, execution of the tests, and discussion of the test results concerning the friction properties of the test surfaces and the wear resistance of the test surfaces. Tests on surface treatments (Fraction 8 to 11,3 mm) are also described together with execution of the tests. Test results are discussed and some aspects of foreign laboratory tests are presented.
