OMEGA UTILIZATION FOR NON-MILITARY SUBSCRIBERS. VOLUME II
Analyses and computer programs developed in support of a study of non-military utilization of the OMEGA radio navigation system are presented. User operating procedures as well as accuracy estimates are considered in the study. The programs which are described in a comprehensive fashion utilize actual OMEGA phase data. Schemes for handling and editing the data as well as determining their error characteristics are described. The accuracies associated with several OMEGA configurations are evaluated using the data base. Subsequently, a computer simulation of navigation procedures required by the various configurations is outlined; it is in part based on the previously determined accuracy estimates. Accurate OMEGA navigation requires use of Skywave Corrections; computer programs which determine the effectiveness of three different corrections models are described. (Author)
