In 1982, Geneva Public Transport ordered a prototype car for the purpose of testing the newly developed concept of articulated, low-floor streetcars in scheduled service. This articulated vehicle with a specially low floor level is equipped with a chopper-controlled drive for 600 v and has a programmable control system based on microprocessors. The paper describes the vehicle concept, drive and control equipment, inboard power supply, and the operational experience.
