ANALYSIS OF ERRORS IN FIELD MEASUREMENTS USING INCLINOMETERS

FEHLERANALYSE BEI NELGUNGSSONDIERUNGEN

This report describes the basic principles of field tests using inclinometers to measure deformations underground and in structures. Details are given of the instrumentation, the errors likely to occur and the effect of the latter on the results. An attempt is made to estimate the magnitude of the errors, based on the results obtained. An example is given of the reproducibility of the tests. (TRRL)
