EXTRUDED CONCRETE KERB AND GUTTER - ACCEPT OR REJECT

For concrete kerb and gutter placed by extrusion machines, the Tweed Shire Council's printed guidelines traditionally specified the achievement of a minimum compressive strength of 20 mpa at twenty eight days. Recent experience with different mould shapes reveals unusual behaviour of certain types, indicating the need for more specific but flexible criteria for the guidance of contractors and consultants. This paper outlines the background and investigation leading to the adoption of new guidelines for acceptability. (Author/TRRL)
