MECHANICS AND CONTROL OF SAND DRIFT IN DESERT REGION

Sand drift is a common natural phenomenon in the desert region which results in the formation of sandy ridges and dunes on the roads, canals and railway tracks, and causes obstruction to traffic and choking of canals. The paper describes the mechanism of sand drift and suggests inexpensive, easily errectable and maintainable measures to check it. (TRRL)
