A FIRST REPORT ON THE USE OF THE LACROIX DEFLECTOGRAPH IN ARGENTINA

PREMIERES EXPERIENCES D'UTILISATION DES DEFLECTOGRAPHES LACROIX EN ARGENTINE

In 1980 the National Highway Department of Argentina purchased five Lacroix-LPC deflectographs which, together with its existing non-destructive testing equipment, was used in setting up a rational system for strengthening and maintenance operations on Argentina's main roads. This article describes the progress of the various stages of making the deflectographs operational, in particular the training of measurement teams, the development of procedures adapted to the Argentine context, the various measurement processing techniques, and the setting up of the administrative and technical organisation essential to good overall performance.
