BEHAVIOUR OF REINFORCED CONCRETE MEMBERS SUBJECTED TO CYCLIC LOADING

The paper examines the behaviour of reinforced concrete flexural members under cyclic loading in relation to results obtained from tests on continuous beams and rectangular frames. The specimens were tested under a range of cyclic loads such as may exist due to wind, seismic or service loading. The post yielding behaviour of the specimens subjected to limited number cycles at various levels of overload is described. The effects of cyclic loading on the ductility of the members tested are given. Results indicate that flexural members are able to carry a limited number of repeated loads which are close to or exceed the static ultimate load without significant cumulative deterioration. The number of the covering abstract for the conference is TRIS no 394142. (Author/TRRL)
