ISSUES ARISING FROM ROAD TRAFFIC SAFETY SEMINAR 1984

The purpose of this report is to bring a number of issues emerging from the seminar to the attention of appropriate authorities. The issues are presented under headings of the three principal factors affecting road safety: roads, road users, and vehicles, following a brief discussion of the magnitude of the road accident problem in New Zealand. A list of road safety measures is presented under two headings -those identified as having demonstrated benefits; and those warranting further research or development. (TRRL)
