FINAL REPORT ON A FEASIBILITY STUDY OF THE USE OF PHOTOGRAMMETRY FOR HEALTH MONITORING OF BRIDGES

This report studies the accuracy and practical aspects of photogrammetry for the health monitoring of bridges, including the use of survey measurements. The preparation of the site is described in detail as are the functional model and the stochastic model. The functional model represents the physical relationships between measurements and spatial coordinates and it includes a definition of the datum used for expressing these coordinates. The stochastic model describes the nature of random errors in the measurements. Details are given of the practical work undertaken in the study, preparation of data for least squares adjustment, and the least squares adjustment program. (TRRL)
