RING AND RIDE. 1ST OCTOBER 1983-31ST JUNE 1984: THE FIRST NINE MONTHS

This publication reports on the progress of the Birmingham community transport ring and ride service, a door-to-door type bus service for mobility handicapped persons. It gives details of the two converted Mercedes 307 D vehicles used, staff and their training and status, premises from which the scheme operates, radio system equipment, publicity given to the scheme, statistical data on use of the system, and funding of the service. Based on the statistics shown and the experience gained from costing the present operation, projections are made for an expanded service. (TRRL)
