BASIC GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING INVESTIGATIONS

OSNOVE INZENJERSKO-GEOLOSKIH ISTRAZIVANJA

The paper describes the geological engineering operations in site investigation; the site characteristics of some rock groups are presented. Some investigation work (excavations, excavation pits, test drillings) with special emphasis on investigations connected with tunnel construction is described. Tectonic disorders, lithologic structure, rock characteristics, underground water and gas, increased temperature and underground pressure are presented as the most important factors in the construction of underground structures.
