CURING CONCRETE - CURING MEMBRANES

Proper curing is a most important factor when placing concrete. Although, in theory, properly controlled water curing is the best method, lack of adequate supervision during the curing period generally means that a curing membrane solution carefully applied at the right coverage rate immediately after placing the concrete, will ensure the best practicable curing in many situations. The author discusses the following spray-applied curing membrane systems: resin solutions in hydrocarbon solvents, resin dispersions in water, wax emulsions, aqueous solutions of silicates. (TRRL)
