A LIFTING-SURFACE PROGRAM FOR TRAPEZOIDAL CONTROL SURFACES WITH FLAPS

A numerical lifting surface procedure is developed specifically for flapped control surfaces with trapezoidal planforms. The procedure uses a discrete vortex approximation with spanwise vortex lines located at constant percentages of the chord. Use of the procedure in obtaining an optimum flapped rudder design is demonstrated. A listing and user's description of the computer program is included. (Author)
