CURRICULM AND PROGRAMS FOR TRAINING CLASS THREE AUTOMOBILE DRIVERS

This collection of programs contains the qualification requirements, curriculum, theoretical information, and production plan for the training of class three drivers in the comprehensive educational schools, the ministerial and departmental auto school the professional-technical and technical secondary level schools of the state committee of the USSR council of ministers on professional technical education, the state auto clubs and the technical sport clubs of the DOSAAF, as well as at courses organized by the educational institutions at the automotive vehicle transport enterprises. The course lasts five months. Included are sections on the construction of the automobile (e.g., crank-shaft and gas-distribution mechanisms, oil and lubrication, cooling system, carburator, electrical equipment, batteries, generator, transmission, braking system); automotive vehicle transport operation and maintenance (e.g., rolling stock transportation of cargoes, drivers' wages, tariffs, dispatcher control); traffic safety (e.g., conditions, road signs, precaution measures, safety requirements for transportation of passengers and cargoes, civil defense, driver's responsibility in regard to transgression of regulations, elements of traffic theory, psychophysiology of operator); metal working (e.g., laying out, cutting filing, drilling, cutting threads, riveting, fitting, soldering, etc.); training the driver for work on diesel engine and gas cylinder automobilies; and finally, automobile operation (e.g., instruction on location, in closed squares, city streets, populated areas and roads under increasingly difficult conditions).
