APPLICATION OF HEWLETT-PACKARD 9830 CALCULATOR AND ANALYTICAL OMI-AP/C STEREO INSTRUMENT IN ROAD DESIGN

Possible applications of photogrammetry in road design using Hewlett-Packard 9830 calculator and analytical omi-ap/c stereoinstrument are described. In the first part, previous applications, technical documentation, road classification and cross-section are presented. The second part deals with alignment (alignment, direction, transient curve) and the setting out of road axis. The third part reviews calculators, data selection, data selection, calculation of main elements and detailed points of the road axis. The alignment elements are (direction, circle) and connected elements (transient curves) the fixed,rotating and inclusive method of connecting independent elements with a different sequence is taken into consideration in programs. The fourth part deals with photogrammery. Details are given of analytical stereoinstrument for the determination of points by aerotriangulation, restitution of photogrammetric images, determination of the coordinates of independent elements, coordinate calculation of main and detailed axial points, cross sections and vertical alignment. The fifth part considers setting out highway axis using the polar and orthogonal method. For the purpose of calculation 8 programs and 21 subprograms given in an appendix, are developed. (TRRL)
