The operating principles and the design of an hydraulic cell which incorporates a high-quality read-out unit are explained. The latter consists of a spring system which is compressed and deflected by the hydraulic pressure so that the deflection can be read from an indicating rod. The rod is being shifted in an axial direction at a rate proportional to the hydraulic pressure. The advantages of this measuring system are stated.
