ATS-5 MULTIPATH/RANGING/DIGITAL DATA L-BAND EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAM. PHASE II. TERMINAL DESIGN AND FLIGHT TEST PLAN FOR PHASE I PROGRAM. VOLUME 2. FLIGHT TEST PLAN

Flight test requirements was defined and integrated flight test schedules have been prepared for the voice/data communications, surveillance, and multipath propagation experiments defined in the phase I test plan. A 6-month flight test program is assumed. Aircraft flightpaths and maneuvers, measurement station locations, satellite usage, and test procedures are given for each experiment. From these, integrated test schedules for the KC-135, DC-6B, and ATS-5 satellite are prepared. Due to failure of the ATS-5 satellite to achieve proper stabilization in orbit, the flight test requirements and schedules described herein were extensively revised prior to the phase IV flight test program.
