SOME ASPECTS OF TRANSITION SPIRALS OF INTEREST TO LAND SURVEYORS

A comparison of different spirals reveals that there are, for the most part, only different approximations of the same standard spiral. Some of the approximations are not satisfactory. Algorithms to solve the spiral offset-line intersection problem and the problem of area next to an offset spiral and arc length are presented. Only the horizontal aspects of these curves are considered.
