THE LAW OF CIVIL SALVAGE
This paper makes specific recommendations to vessel owners regarding the most important factors to document while engaged in a salvage operation. To understand the purpose and effect of these recommendations it is necessary to understand the basic principles upon which the law of salvage operates. For this reason the specific recommendations are prefaced with an outline of the history, nature, and general principles of the doctrine of salvage.
