The data collected, the assessment of that data and the conclusions drawn from it in relation to a traffic management scheme for the city of Prospect Area, an inner northern suburb of Adelaide are described. The assessment of the collected data and the influence of major works on the internal and adjacent arterial road network suggested the conclusion of the study to be a strong case for maintaining existing traffic patterns and not to implement a comprehensive scheme involving traffic control devices designed to redistribute or redirect traffic. This conclusion was confirmed by traffic count figures obtained after the completion of some of the major works on the arterial road system. (TRRL)
