Global EV Outlook 2022: Securing Supplies for an Electric Future
Global electric automobile sales increased to 6.6 million in 2021. More than half of these cars were sold in China. Sales of electric cars accounted for 9% of the worldwide car market in 2021. In addition, almost 500,000 chargers were installed in 2021 bringing the number of publicly accessible chargers to 1.8 million worldwide. This report looks at global electric vehicle (EV) sales, EV charging infrastructure, policy implementation, and outlook for EVs to 2030. It also discusses the impact of EVs on energy demand and emissions; battery technologies and critical materials; and smart charging policies.
