SEABEE, A SYSTEMS APPROACH TO OCEAN SHIPPING
The SEABEE system represents a major change in maritime technique with differences not only in the technical field but also in the economics of profitably operating a general cargo service. The concept is based on the barge-carrying ship, and provides capabilities of diversified transport far beyond that provided by the conventional containership. This discussion includes a description of the equipment and suggests some of the transportation advantages offered to both operator and customer.
