RESISTANCE OF A FLAT PLATE TO THE FLOW OF A POLYMER SOLUTION WITH VARIABLE CONCENTRATION

O SOPROTIVLENII PLOSKOI PLASTINY V POTOKE POLIMERNOGO RASTVORA PEREMENNOI KONTSENTRATSII

The problem of calculation of a turbulent boundary layer on a flat plate with injection of a polymer solution near its front edge is considered. The simplifying assumption regarding the possibility of substituting an effective uniform distribution for real distribution of the concentration of the polymer additives at the right angle to the plate surface is used to solve this problem. Such an assumption makes it possible to evaluate the expenditure of the polymer necessary for obtaining the set reduction in friction resistance.
