REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR CARGO-HOLD INSPECTION

A remote controlled system for the inspection of the cargo holds of VLCC's and ULCC's has been developed and is described. This system is an industrial television system designed to enable the hull inspector to detect anything wrong or unusual inside the hold while watching the Braun tube on the deck. The system is designed to detect unsafe conditions within the tank by means of a TV camera inserted through a Butterworth hole. The operation of the system is described, as are the various elements of the system. Future design considerations and possible system improvements are also discussed.
