VALDEZ TERMINAL, PUMP STATION PLANS READY FOR CONSTRUCTORS
The terminal port for the 48-inch trans-Alaska oil pipeline, located at Valdez, is described. The crude storage tanks at the port will have an inert gas blanket between the surface of the crude and the fixed roof. The sources of both the inert gas and cooled flue gas that lead to the tanks are briefly described. Berthing facilities for ships in the Valdez Fiord are also described, as are the ballast water treatment facilities.
