SELECTION OF HOSE SYSTEMS FOR SPM TANKER TERMINALS
Selection of hose systems for SPM tanker terminals requires study of operational and environmental conditions and consideration of all available surface and subsurface hose designs. Large diameter hose systems can achieve maximum cargo transfer rates, and assure dependable terminal utilization, while avoiding tanker delay, over- or under-utilization of storage capacity, and decreases in production. The factors involved are presented in simplified calculations for a hypothetical SPM terminal.
