MODERN APPROACH TO SINGLE BUOY MOORING CALCULATIONS
Instead of depending entirely upon formulas for calculating the forces developed on terminal elements as determined by surrounding conditions, IMODCO (International Marine Oil Development Corp.) has used the results of tank tests to develop a computer program capable of easily solving the complete equilibrium of the system. A tabulation shows 23 IMODCO terminals, with tanker sizes, hose sizes, and number of products handled.
