CONSTRUCTION OF REFRIGERATED TERMINALS
Petroleos Mexicanos has constructed refrigerated, double-walled insulated tanks to hold 20,000 tons of liquid ammonia at Salina Cruz in order to serve the Cosoleacaque-Salina Cruz ammonia pipeline, having a nominal top capacity of 1000 tons/day. The terminal includes cryogenic pumping equipment for sending ammonia to tankers which will carry it to the distribution terminals of Guayamas and Rosarito, where a floating, single buoy dock has been built about 1000 m from shore. The 10 in. dia pipeline between the dock and the shore has so many coatings for protection and weight that it is about 20 in. dia.
