IIAPCO EXPORTING CINTA CRUDE TO JAPAN

Independent Indonesian American Petroleum Co. is shipping high-gravity, low-sulfur oil from the Cinta field, Indonesia's first offshore discovery, only 12 months after discovery. The crude oil is metered on a 55,000 dwt storage vessel and then pumped to export tankers through a mooring buoy 1 mile away. The high pour-point (95 - 100 F), waxy (25-35% by wt) crude is maintained at 120 F on the storage vessel, which is a cropped T-3 tanker forebody leased from Pertamina P.N. The vessel provides 350,000 bbl of storage and also accommodates producing personnel and crew.
