MAINTENANCE OF RURAL ROADS - SUMMARY OF RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE FIRST AND SECOND REGIONAL WORKSHOP ON RURAL ROAD DEVELOPMENT
Following a decision of the Rural Roads Committee of the Indian Roads Congress, two regional workshops on rural road development were held at Grandhinagar and Nainital during 1981. The objective of the workshops was to identify problems and the maintenance methods adopted by the different states/regions concerning aspects of rural road development so as to facilitate the development of recommended practices and guidelines. The paper presents a brief summary of the recommendations of the workshops. (TRRL)
