MAINTENANCE OF UNPAVED ROADS WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO ROADS IN RAJASTHAN
Unpaved roads require constant attention to prevent corrugation and erosion. Regravelling is also required to correct slopes, potholes and gullies to protect the surface material. An added problem in the desert areas of Rajasthan is that of wind and rain erosion. The paper describes the characteristics of repair materials used in such conditions and identifies particular maintenance problems of desert areas. (TRRL)
