AN EVALUATION OF EQUIPMENT FOR LOCALIZED PAVEMENT REPAIR

Equipment is an important component of the pothole repair process as it must not only be cost-effective, but must also be compatible with manpower availability and type of material used. A literature search carried out by the author suggests that little published information exists on the performance of various items of equipment. The purpose of the paper is to describe equipment available and to indicate the limitations and advantages of the equipment. The important production characteristics of some of the equipment considered appropriate for pothole repair operations are tabulated. (TRRL)
