ULTRASONIC SENSOR DETECTS FLOW OF GAS, LIQUID AND SLURRY

Scarpa Laboratories, Metuchen, N.J., offers a low-cost ultrasonic flow sensor actuated by a transducer in a 1 in. dia aluminum housing which is attached to the outside of the pipeline. Installation takes only seconds, and the device causes no pressure drop, corrosion, or contamination. A 0-100 microampere meter indicates relative flow velocity; calibration is necessary if actual flow rates are desired.
