PSYCHROCYCLE--CLOSED-CYCLE DIESEL POWER SYSTEM

Psychrocycle (closed-cycle diesel power system) testing at power levels from 8 to 20 kw successfully demonstrated operation with liquid oxygen as the oxygen source and potassium hydroxide for absorption of carbon dioxide. Undersea performance as a mobile and stationary power system is discussed, anticipating the application of the system to military and commercial undersea power requirements.
